Ya just bring your books, guitar and pick. Usually on the first lesson you’ll learn basic things like chords and the proper way to hold your guitar and pick etc.
Besides the obvious (guitar and pick), you can leave the books behind. What your teacher will do is go over the very basics of guitar (how to hold it, how to the pick, the string names, hand position).
Your teacher will ask you what kind of music you like, and ask you to make a CD of songs you want to learn.
Take your guitar and books for making notes. I suspect the instructor will show you how to hold the guitar, identify key parts of the instrument, how to tune the strings to pitch, and show you a few basic chords of G, C, and D7.
That’s what I would do.
bring your guitar and pick. you will most likely go over how to hold your guitar, the parts of a guitar, notes and chords, just the bare basics nothing that will shock and awe you. you should be ok
