Your best bet would be to get guitar lessons online. They are much more inexpensive than in-person lessons and can be repeated and gone over as many times as you like. You also have the ability to learn as fast, or as slow, as you like.
When i began learning guitar, I was cheap and didn’t want to pay for lessons. I formed lots of bad habits that I am still trying to unlearn. I didn’t have any structure to my learning, so I would learn, for example, the Minor Pentatonic scales, and just jam and regurgitate it over and over. I got stuck in a rut, BAD!
The best place i know of is http://www.rockguitarlessons.info
My friend found them and is using them now. He is learning at a pretty decent pace, but he’s also really bogged down with work. Apparently you get a year’s worth of lessons for a really cheap price. And you learn from professional guitar players.
Hope this was some help to ya.

I think it depends to some degree on the teachers ability and location.
The reason I say location is because some of the other answers say things like £10 an hour. In London however I’ve found it to be around to be anywhere between £20-£45 an hour depending on the teacher.
If by chance you live in London that’s what you’re looking at.

I pay £20 for an hour, but you can probably get one cheaper to be honest. Try looking in music shops.

Mine are £11 per lesson, but that’s cause it’s one-to-one lessons.
If you have lessons in groups then it’s cheaper.
